Product Characteristics

L-Ascorbate palmitate is a white or slightly yellow powder with a faint citrus odor. It is sparingly soluble in water and vegetable oils, readily soluble in ethanol (1 g/45 mL), with a maximum temperature of 107–117 °C. It exhibits optical rotation [α] 250 ± 21–24° and is stable in dry air.L-Ascorbate palmitate are among the strongest antioxidants. Their antioxidant effect is further enhanced when used in combination with other antioxidants such as vitamin E.

Compared to Vitamin C, its advantages include: thermal stability, light stability, and storage stability. Therefore, it is more suitable for antioxidant applications in oil-based systems.

Antioxidant Mechanism

Ve can be used in greases without limit, and AP is limited to 0.2g/kg. Tocopherol first reacts with free radicals to produce tocopherol free radicals. In the presence of Ascorbyl Palmitate, vitamin E can be regenerated and Ascorbyl Palmitate free radicals are generated until Ascorbyl Palmitate is completely consumed.
