Product Introduction
What is Aspartic Acid?
Aspartic Acid Powder, abbreviated as Asp or D, is an α-amino acid. Its L-isomer is one of the 20 protein amino acids, i.e., the structural unit of protein. It is an acidic amino acid like glutamic acid and is commonly found in biosynthesis. It is a coded amino acid in protein synthesis, a non-essential amino acid and a glucogenic amino acid in mammals, and can be a neurotransmitter. It is soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and ether, and can form salts when combined with acids or bases. L-Aspartic acid, as an important amino acid, is widely used in food, chemical industry, medicine and other fields, and has great market development potential.

Benefits
Improve immune system function
It is an important component of immunoglobulins and antibodies and is essential for maintaining the normal function of the immune system.
Antioxidant and anti-aging
It has antioxidant properties and can help neutralize free radicals, thereby slowing down the aging process of cells and tissues.
Promote skin health
It helps maintain skin moisture and elasticity, promotes skin metabolism, and reduces the synthesis of melanin, thereby playing a whitening and anti-aging role.
Participate in liver function
It plays a key role in the ornithine cycle, helping to convert ammonia and carbon dioxide into urea. This process helps reduce nitrogen accumulation in the body, thereby protecting liver function.
Enhance heart health
Participate in the energy production process in the myocardium, help improve myocardial function, and have a protective effect against myocardial hypoxia.
Aspartic Acid Forms and Absorption
There are two forms, L-type and D-type. Food protein is L-type (i.e., L-rotatory) aspartic acid. It competes with glutamate for absorption in the brain, cortex, and spine. Competitive absorption function is one of the ways that amino acid metabolism regulates the body.
Its uptake with glutamate is reduced in damaged brains. Like other excitatory neurotransmitters, aspartic acid is reduced in the blood of patients with depression. Aspartic acid is currently being tested for the treatment of depression.
Application
Food
Nutritional supplements: Due to its nutritional value, it is often added to various refreshing drinks and foods to enhance the nutritional value and taste of the products.
Sweetener production: It is the main raw material of the sweetener asparagine methyl ester, which is widely used in low-calorie foods and beverages. It is favored by diabetics and people who want to lose weight because of its low calories and high sweetness.
Health products
It is used as a third-generation new calcium source in the field of health products, with good stability, easy absorption, and high calcium content.
Cosmetics
It can be used as a nutritional additive for cosmetics to provide moisturizing and antioxidant effects and improve skin health.
Medicine
It is used to treat heart disease, liver disease, hypertension, etc., and has the effect of preventing and restoring fatigue. It can also be used as a component of various amino acid infusions, as an ammonia detoxifier and liver function promoter.
Preparation Method
- Asparagine hydrolysis.
- Fumaric acid and ammonia are used as raw materials, and the D-body can be synthesized under the action of asparagase. Recently, Japan has developed a method to synthesize aspartic acid using polysaccharide κ-carrageenan instead of asparagase, which can improve the yield.
- Glucose is used as raw material for fermentation. The fermentation can be carried out by free cell method and fixed cell method.
- Use acid or alkali to hydrolyze the protein of aspartic acid.
