What is Neutral Protease?

Neutral Protease is extracted from Bacillus subtilis by fermentation. It is an endonuclease that can be used for various protein hydrolysis treatments. It can hydrolyze the N-terminal peptide bond of non-J amino acid residues and is classified as an amino endopeptidase. Its mild proteolytic action makes the enzyme particularly suitable for separating primary and secondary cells because it can maintain the integrity of the cell membrane.
