Preparation Method
(1) Weigh 138.8g (1.286mol) silver and 91.18g palladium (0.857mol), dropwise add 400g of 96% nitric acid in excess, raise the temperature to 90°C after the addition is complete, stir for 2 hours, filter, add 265g (22.08mol) of carbon powder to the filtrate, and simultaneously dropwise add 50% KOH solution, stir vigorously until the system pH = 10, continue stirring for 1 hour to allow the carrier carbon powder to be fully adsorbed, filter, and the resulting filter cake is a mixture of silver oxide, palladium hydroxide and carbon powder.
(2) Add 400 mL of 50% KOH pure water solution to the mixture of silver oxide, palladium hydroxide and carbon powder, cool to 20, 24, 27 or 30°C, and add 185 g (2.284 mol) of formaldehyde solution at 20, 23, 26 or -30°C. After the addition is complete, continue the reaction for 0.5 hours, then filter the reaction product, wash it with 1200 g of pure water (wash three times, 400 g each time) until it is neutral, and dry it to obtain 456.5 g of black powdery solid silver/palladium/carbon catalyst.
(3) Dissolve 28g KOH in 700g deionized water to prepare a 4wt% potassium hydroxide solution, then add 7g silver/palladium/carbon catalyst and stir until the material is evenly mixed; heat the material to 60°C, introduce pure oxygen at an oxygen flow rate of 6L/min, and maintain oxygen flow for 15 minutes, then adjust the material temperature to 60°C, add 140g cinnamaldehyde while maintaining the above oxygen flow rate, and add for 5 hours. After the addition is complete, continue to react with oxygen for 10 minutes to obtain a potassium cinnamate aqueous solution;
(4) Filter the potassium cinnamate aqueous solution generated by the reaction, and the resulting filter cake is a silver/palladium/carbon catalyst. Return the catalyst to the reactor for recycling, adjust the pH value of the resulting filtrate to 9.5 with KOH, cool to 12°C, crystallize, centrifuge and dry, and vacuum dry to obtain 182.7g of white flaky crystalline potassium cinnamate finished product with a purity of ≥98.5% and a yield of 92.6% (based on cinnamaldehyde).
