Product Introduction

Do You Know Bulk Apigenin?

Bulk Apigenin is a flavonoid compound widely distributed in nature. It is primarily derived from the Apiaceae plant, Celery, but is also found in other plants such as chamomile, lemon balm, perilla, verbena, and yarrow.

Apigenin's molecular structure dictates its unique properties, resulting in excellent biological effects. Numerous studies have shown that apigenin is a natural antioxidant, capable of lowering blood pressure, relaxing blood vessels, and preventing atherosclerosis. Compared to other flavonoids (such as quercetin and kaempferol), apigenin is less toxic and non-mutagenic. It has applications in the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Bulk Apigenin

Apigenin is also a type of phytochemical. Based on their structure, phytochemicals can be divided into five major categories: carotenoids, polyphenols, alkaloids, nitrogen-containing compounds, and organosulfur compounds. Apigenin is a member of the flavonoid class, the largest of the polyphenol subclasses.

Sources

Vegetables: Parsley, celery, broccoli, kale, artichokes

Fruits: Grapefruit, kumquats

Herbs: Chamomile, oregano, and mint can all contain apigenin.

A method for extracting apigenin comprises the following steps

·Screening and crushing celery seeds, placing them in a container containing 70% alcohol, stirring, and allowing to stand;

·Mixing the powdered celery seeds with the alcohol converts the powder into granules;

·Extracting the granular mixture in the container three times, with each extraction interval lasting two hours;

·Filtering the extracted granules through a solution, decompressing, and concentrating the solution to produce powdered refined apigenin. The extraction ratio of celery seeds to apigenin is 150:1. The purity of the refined apigenin is 98%.

Effects and Benefits of Bulk Apigenin

Antioxidant and Anti-Aging Effects

Apigenin can mitigate cellular oxidative damage to a certain extent by scavenging free radicals and activating antioxidant enzymes (such as SOD). It may help delay skin aging and the progression of neurodegenerative diseases.

Assisted Anti-Inflammation

In vitro studies have shown that apigenin can inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as TNF-α and IL-6), potentially helping to alleviate chronic inflammation. Moderate intake may help improve mild inflammatory conditions such as allergic rhinitis.

Cardiovascular Health

Apigenin may have potential benefits in maintaining stable blood pressure by dilating blood vessels and inhibiting platelet aggregation. Epidemiological studies have shown that people who regularly consume celery have a relatively low incidence of hypertension, but the specific dose-response relationship remains unclear.

What Are The Applications Of Bulk Apigenin?

Bulk Apigenin is primarily used in pharmaceuticals, food, and skincare products, exhibiting antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular protective properties.

Pharmaceuticals

Apigenin is used to alleviate inflammatory reactions (such as arthritis and dermatitis), assist in lowering blood pressure, and improve cardiovascular function. Its antioxidant properties can help slow aging, and studies have shown that apigenin has potential protective effects against Alzheimer's disease.

Health care Supplements

It can be added to health supplements to exert its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular protective properties.

Skin care Products

Apigenin is also added to anti-aging products and sunscreen cosmetics, absorbing UVB rays and acting as a stabilizer.

Food Additives

It acts as a natural antioxidant, extending the shelf life of foods.

Plant Flavonoids: The Health Benefits Of Bulk Apigenin

Chronic diseases are prevalent in today's society. Flavonoids, a natural antioxidant found in plant foods and widely found in fruits, vegetables, and teas, have been shown in numerous studies to reduce the risk of various diseases. Furthermore, when we prioritize both a high intake and a diverse range of flavonoids, the health benefits can be maximized.

Flavonoids are a common polyphenolic compound found in tea, berries, citrus fruits, apples, and dark-colored vegetables. They are categorized into flavonols (quercetin), anthocyanidins, flavan-3-ols (epicatechin), flavanones (naringenin), and flavonoids (apigenin). These compounds significantly reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes through their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, improving vascular function, and regulating metabolism.

Apigenin: Improves Obesity-Induced Insulin Resistance

Studies have shown that apigenin, a natural plant flavonoid, can effectively improve insulin resistance caused by obesity. Obesity can lead to excessive secretion of a protein called fetuin-A in the liver. A protein binds to insulin receptors, hindering the normal transmission of insulin signals and thus causing insulin resistance. Apigenin works through a dual mechanism: first, it reduces the expression of fetuin-A mRNA in the liver, reducing its production; second, it promotes the degradation of existing fetuin-A through autophagy. More importantly, apigenin prevents fetuin-A from binding to insulin receptors, thereby restoring the normal function of the insulin signaling pathway, promoting the translocation of glucose transporters to the cell membrane, and improving blood sugar metabolism. Animal experiments have confirmed that supplementing mice with apigenin significantly reduced liver fetuin-A levels and improved insulin sensitivity. This research provides new insights into the development of natural ingredients to treat metabolic disorders.

Apigenin – A Shield for Skin Health

Apigenin is becoming a research hotspot in phytochemistry and dermatology. Studies exploring its potential in treating skin diseases have revealed the multiple benefits of this natural compound for skin health.

In terms of combating UV damage:

Apigenin effectively protects skin cells, reducing UV-induced cell damage while also inhibiting skin inflammation. Clinical trials have shown that after four weeks of using a cream containing 1% apigenin, subjects' skin became noticeably firmer and more elastic, with fewer wrinkles and increased hydration.

In terms of promoting wound healing:

Animal studies have demonstrated that topical application of apigenin gel significantly accelerates wound repair. In a mouse wound model, researchers found that two weeks of treatment with a 5mg apigenin gel significantly accelerated wound healing and reduced inflammation.

In terms of combating skin aging:

Apigenin helps maintain the skin's youthful appearance by protecting collagen and elastin from degradation and reducing oxidative stress. In terms of whitening benefits, experiments have shown that apigenin ointment at a concentration of 0.1-1% can effectively inhibit melanin production and reduce dark spots caused by UV rays.

Anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties:

Apigenin can modulate immune responses, reduce the production of various pro-inflammatory factors, and enhance skin barrier function. Of particular note, in research on the treatment of vitiligo, experiments have shown that apigenin and its derivatives can promote melanocyte activity, increase melanin production, and protect melanocytes from oxidative damage. These findings provide important evidence for the development of new natural skincare ingredients.

Summary

Bulk Apigenin exhibits broad application prospects in the field of skin health. This natural active ingredient not only effectively protects against UV damage and promotes wound healing, but also slows skin aging and improves pigmentation. Experiments have confirmed that both topical apigenin products and a balanced diet can provide multiple benefits for skin health.

However, to fully realize the therapeutic potential of apigenin, more rigorous trials are needed.With further research, we believe that this natural active ingredient will continue to advance in the fields of skin care and treatment, bringing even more exciting discoveries.
