What is Tocotrienol?

Tocotrienols belong to the vitamin E family and possess antioxidant properties. Natural vitamin E is primarily categorized into two groups: tocopherols and tocotrienols. The distinction between them lies in their chemical structures; while tocopherols are often found in synthetic forms, tocotrienols occur naturally and offer superior antioxidant potency.

History and Discovery

Although vitamin E (a form of alpha-tocopherol) was discovered as early as the 1920s, it was not until the 1960s that tocotrienols were evaluated and determined to be part of the vitamin E family tree.
