What Is Berberine Sulfate？

Berberine Sulfate Powder, also known as berberine hydrogen sulfate, is an isoquinoline alkaloid. Preparation Method

A: Crude berberine is used as raw material, water and activated carbon are added, stirred at 80-95℃ to completely dissolve, filtered, and refined berberine solution (a) is obtained.

B: Add dilute sulfuric acid solution to solution (a) under stirring, react at 70-95℃ for 3-5 hours, cool and filter, wash, and dry to obtain berberine hydrogen sulfate (b).

C: Add (b) and distilled water to the reaction bottle, add 10% NaOH solution dropwise under stirring until (b) is completely dissolved, adjust the pH to 7-8, remove water under reduced pressure to dryness, then add 80-90% ethanol, heat and reflux for 30 minutes, filter, cool the filtrate for crystallization for more than 4 hours, filter, and recrystallize the filter cake with 80-90% ethanol to obtain the finished berberine sulfate, the quality of which meets the standard requirements.
