What is Potassium Iodide?

Synthesis method‍

1. Reduction method: Iodine reacts with potassium hydroxide to generate potassium iodide, potassium iodate, and water, and then it is reduced with reduced iron powder.

2. Iron filings method: Iron filings react with iodine to generate iron hexaiodide, and then potassium carbonate is added and heated and concentrated.

3. Neutralization method: Hydroiodic acid reacts with potassium carbonate in a hydrogen gas stream to obtain.

4. Sulfide method: Potassium sulfate reacts with barium sulfide to generate potassium sulfide. Potassium sulfide is then reacted with iodine to remove sulfur, concentrated, and dried to obtain the finished product.
