Inosine Powder, also known as inosine nucleoside, is a white needle-shaped crystal with no odor and a slightly bitter taste. It is a nucleoside compound formed by the combination of inosine and ribose. In the de novo synthesis of purine, inosinic acid (IMP) can be used as a precursor for the synthesis of adenylic acid (AMP) and guanylic acid (GMP). It is slightly soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid and alkali hydroxide solution, and very slightly soluble in ethanol. It is easily hydrolyzed in dilute inorganic acid to produce inosine and D-ribose.
