What is L-Ornithine L-Aspartate Salt?

L-Ornithine L-Aspartate Salt, also known as ornithine aspartate, has a chemical name of S-2,5-diaminopentanoic acid-(S)-2-aminosuccinate. It is a stable dipeptide compound prepared by chemical synthesis of L-ornithine and L-aspartic acid. It is very soluble in water and almost insoluble in methanol or ethanol. Preparation Method

1. Add L-ornithine acetate, water and L-aspartic acid into the reactor, wherein the weight ratio of L-ornithine acetate to water is 1:1.5-1:2.5, and the weight ratio of L-ornithine acetate to L-aspartic acid is 1.2:1-2.3:1;
2. Add ammonia water or introduce ammonia gas to adjust the pH value to 6-9, heat to 60℃ and stir to dissolve;
3. Add 5% activated carbon for decolorization and filter while hot;
4. Under stirring, add methanol or ethanol dropwise to the filtrate to fully crystallize it;
5. After the crystals are completely precipitated, cool down, filter and dry to obtain the finished product.
